Publication Ethics

Commitment to Publication Ethics

ScienceForecast is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and responsible scholarly publishing. The publisher expects authors, editors, reviewers, and all participants in the publication process to act with honesty, transparency, fairness, and respect for the integrity of the scholarly record.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts represent their original work and that the information presented is accurate to the best of their knowledge. Authors should properly acknowledge the work of others, provide appropriate citations, disclose relevant conflicts of interest, and obtain necessary permissions for material that they do not own.

Originality and Duplicate Publication

Manuscripts submitted to ScienceForecast should not have been previously published in substantially the same form and should not be under consideration for publication by another journal at the same time. Authors should inform the editorial office of any closely related publications or submissions that may overlap with the manuscript.

Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the conception, conduct, analysis, interpretation, or preparation of the work. All listed authors should have approved the final manuscript and should agree to its submission and publication. Any changes to authorship after submission should be communicated to the editorial office and may require agreement from the relevant authors.

Research Integrity

Authors are expected to report research accurately and responsibly. Fabrication, falsification, manipulation of research data, misleading presentation of results, and other forms of research misconduct are not acceptable. Where applicable, authors should provide information about ethical approval, informed consent, clinical registration, animal welfare, or other relevant research requirements.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers should disclose financial, professional, personal, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing their work or judgment. Disclosures should be made at the appropriate stage of the editorial and publication process.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for managing manuscripts fairly and objectively and for maintaining the confidentiality of submitted work. Editorial decisions should be based on the scholarly quality, relevance, originality, and scope of the manuscript. Editors should not use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for personal advantage.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts objectively, constructively, and within the agreed timeframe. Reviewers should maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and should not use unpublished information obtained through peer review for personal or professional advantage. Reviewers should disclose potential conflicts of interest and should decline a review when they cannot provide an impartial assessment.

Plagiarism and Misconduct

ScienceForecast does not accept plagiarism, substantial unattributed copying, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship practices, or other forms of scholarly misconduct. Where concerns arise, the publisher may request clarification, supporting information, corrections, or other appropriate action in accordance with the circumstances of the case.

Corrections and Retractions

ScienceForecast recognizes the importance of maintaining an accurate and reliable scholarly record. When a significant error or issue is identified after publication, the publisher may consider an appropriate correction, clarification, expression of concern, or retraction depending on the nature and significance of the issue.

Ethical Concerns and Investigations

Ethical concerns relating to a manuscript or published article may be investigated by the ScienceForecast Editorial Office. Authors, reviewers, editors, and other relevant parties may be contacted when additional information or clarification is required. Appropriate action will be determined according to the available evidence and the circumstances of the matter.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions should be made independently of commercial interests, advertising considerations, or an author's ability or willingness to pay publication charges. Article Processing Charges do not determine whether a manuscript is accepted for publication.

Ethical Responsibilities of the Publisher

ScienceForecast is committed to supporting responsible editorial practices, protecting the integrity of the scholarly record, and addressing credible concerns about published or submitted work. The publisher may update its procedures when necessary to strengthen ethical standards and responsible scholarly communication.
