ABOUT JOURNAL

SF Journal of Emergency Medicine is concerned with the science and practice of providing timely care for patients with acute illness, injury, and other urgent medical conditions. The journal promotes research that can improve emergency assessment, clinical decision-making, stabilization, treatment, and outcomes across a wide range of emergency settings.

Areas of interest include emergency diagnosis, trauma and critical injury, acute cardiovascular and neurological conditions, toxicology, infectious emergencies, pediatric and geriatric emergencies, disaster medicine, resuscitation, emergency procedures, prehospital care, and emergency department systems. Research examining patient safety, triage, clinical protocols, healthcare delivery, and innovations in acute care is also encouraged.

The journal welcomes all types of scholarly manuscripts relevant to emergency medicine. Contributions from emergency physicians, clinicians, researchers, paramedics, nurses, and other healthcare professionals are encouraged, supporting the dissemination of evidence that can strengthen acute and emergency healthcare practice.

Working 12-hour shifts during this COVID-19 period in a busy tertiary Emergency Department (ED) in Singapore [1], there is barely time to reflect. Finally, as I take a breather, various conversations flood my mind, stirring a wave of emotions and thought-provoking perspectives about humanity, which this narrative depicts. Our calling in medicine “You work here? Tough job!” commented the driver as I boarded the taxi home from work. “This is what we signed up for.” I replied, in a fatigue-laden voice.

Prolonged mobilization of Hematopoietic Progenitor Cells (HPCs) are related with the HD and poor outcome following T/HS patients. Excessive Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor (G-CSF) related with this response [1-3].
