ABOUT JOURNAL

SF Journal of Otolaryngology focuses on research and clinical developments involving disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck. The journal provides a forum for otolaryngologists, surgeons, audiologists, researchers, and related healthcare professionals to share advances in the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of conditions affecting these anatomical regions.

The journal covers areas including otology, neuro-otology, hearing and balance disorders, audiology, rhinology, sinus and nasal diseases, laryngology, voice and swallowing disorders, pediatric otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, facial disorders, sleep-related airway conditions, and advances in endoscopic, microsurgical, and other therapeutic techniques.

The journal welcomes all types of scholarly manuscripts relevant to otolaryngology, including original research, review articles, systematic reviews, clinical studies, case reports, case series, surgical studies, diagnostic investigations, brief reports, and other scientifically valuable contributions. The journal seeks to support evidence-based advances in ENT practice and improve patient care through continuing clinical and scientific research.

Background: Chronic rhino sinusitis had a significant negative influence on patient’s daily activities, emotions and affected the patient’s quality of life. It could be associated with depression and generalized anxiety disorder. Aim of the Study: To evaluate the quality of life among patients with chronic rhino sinusitis and the risk of developing depression and generalized anxiety disorder.

How We Do It: The Hickey Technique for Removing a Foreign Object from the Nasal Cavity of a Child

Key Points Removing foreign bodies from children is a common procedure. Failure to do so due to an uncooperative child or technical difficulty leads to the risk, expense and inconvenience of a general anaesthetic. The Hickey technique is a manoeuvre which allows maximal access and visibility to the nasal cavity even in an uncooperative child.
